An anxious mind rarely obeys a command to calm down. You are not failing at faith because your thoughts will not sit still.
Featured Scripture
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7, KJV
Truth to hold onto
God's answer to anxiety is not pressure but invitation: tell Him everything, in detail, with thanksgiving. The peace He gives guards the mind — it comes to stand watch over the very place where the worry lives.
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself: sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
A short prayer
Father, my thoughts will not be still. I bring You every one of them, even the ones I cannot untangle. Let Your peace stand guard over my mind today. Help me live only in this hour, with You. Amen.
