Truth to hold onto
God speaks courage into people who are already discouraged — Joshua, David, Elijah. He does not ask you to manufacture strength. He promises His presence wherever you go and a season you cannot yet see.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”
A short prayer
Lord, I am discouraged and close to giving up. Renew what has run dry in me. Remind me that faithfulness in a hard season is not failure. Carry me until I can walk again. Amen.
