Truth to hold onto
Forgiveness is not God overlooking what you did; it is God dealing with it fully and then removing it — east from west, into the depths of the sea. There is no probation period afterward.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
“He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
A short prayer
Lord, I confess what I have done. I am not making excuses. Cleanse me and make me new. Help me receive Your forgiveness instead of punishing myself with what You have already carried away. Amen.
