Guided Prayer
One · Pause
Be still for a moment. Breathe in slowly, and out slowly — three times. There is no hurry here, and no one is watching.
Be still, and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10 · KJV
Two · Check in
Where are you most tired as a parent right now?
Three · Scripture · King James Version
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
James 1:5 · KJV
“He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”
Isaiah 40:11 · KJV
“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
Psalm 127:3 · KJV
Four · Reflection
God is pictured as a shepherd who gently leads those with young. He knows how tiring this season is, and He gives wisdom to those who ask.
Five · Pray this
Father, I need wisdom I do not have. Lead me gently, as You lead those with young. Give me patience for today, and cover the places where I fall short. In Jesus' name, amen.
Six · Now in your own words
Pray for each child by name, and for yourself with the same kindness.
Seven · Private journal
What my child needs from me this week, and what I need in order to give it.
Eight · One practical step
Ask for one concrete piece of help, and rest when you can.
